Default Custom carbon Thule fairing + bike carriers

Today is a public holiday and I thought I'd waste my time on another pointless project.

Todays fun was to get a Thule fairing kit ( XT 871), some Thule pro ride 591 and a set of rails and install them on to the XC.

    OK lets start the fun:

    1. Starting with the fresh fairing plastic piece. Cover the face with Hexis carbon wrap.

    2. Cut the carbon wrapping and trim to a flash edge all round - including the drill holes.

    3. With a scalpel (mine went missing) or knife, carefully cut away at the white vinyl which has the graphics etched into.

    4. Cover the vinyl with application tape and ensure all the vinyl is ready for transfer to the Thule fairing.

    5. With the vinyl graphics now on the fairing, finish building the kit and prepare for installation to the car.

    6. Testing the fitment. Not bad (could have been wider)

    7. Assemble the Thule fairing to the front cross bar and fix into place

    8. Assemble the Thule Pro ride bike racks.

    9. Looks good in the sun.

Hey Ocean Racer, you are doing a great job there, where do you get that carbon flex sheets, I'm from Sydney and I'm thinking of putting a rear spoiler
on my XC06 with that carbon fibre look.
    Cheers

    like this ?

Its a carbon vinyl wrap. I get it from my supplier here in Perth.
For best results, the rear spoiler needs to be wrapped prior to being fixed to the car. Otherwise it will peel back, look tatty and last a few months.

Thanks for the advice, are there any other rear spoiler style/ profile for the XCs?

    Cheers
